MOXO test

Today, the MOXO test is considered the spearhead when obtaining a picture of the state of the attention disorder.

The test provides an accurate and objective measure that allows for a better understanding of the level and type of difficulty. Depending on the results, we can adjust the most successful treatment plan.

* Refunds in Israel can be received from Clalit Health Services.

What is the MOXO test and what is special about it?

The diagnostic process

The individual sits in front of a screen where images and content change (similar to a computer game) and he must strike a key every time he sees a certain image.

During the test, the program software shows various distractors to cause the individual to lose concentration.

The software checks how these distractions, whether visual or auditory, affect the individual and make it difficult for him or her to function, or if they stimulate him; whether—over time—he slowly gets tired or improves.

The process consists of 8 different stages, each of which has a different type of disruption.

In fact, the diagnosis gives a picture of the individual’s attention abilities by examining his reaction to visual and auditory distractions, while simulating the environment of an everyday reality. Examining this ability and comparing it to the average of a very broad segment of the population worldwide, it delivers the most accurate data and enables the display of objective data in the overall diagnosis.

Results that give an accurate measuring

Attention abilities are tested using 4 separate indices which are the 4 main symptoms of attention deficit:

Attention
Response time
Impulsiveness
Hyper-reactivity

Through the analysis of these four indices, we can identify the unique features of each individual’s attention profile.

The results are shown in two different ways: as a table—the comparison to the norm—and as a timeline showing a performance graph.

The ability to also interpret the performance graph throughout the test gives another insight regarding the exact diagnosis: in which areas is the individual stronger and in which is he weaker, does he get tired, does he suffer from anxiety, and more.

Have you already undergone MOXO and want to understand the results?

How should you prepare for a MOXO diagnosis?

The most recommended time to conduct the test is in the morning.

We want to test the abilities when the brain is alert and active (when it is at its best) and thus know precisely its true condition and the areas with difficulties in which it needs to improve. Therefore, it is necessary to arrive after the subject has had a good night’s sleep (note that if the child did not sleep well at night—you should cancel and re-arrange a new appointment), make sure that the child eats a nutritious and satisfying breakfast before arrival. As a rule of thumb: make sure that the child arrives in a relaxed manner.

In addition, it is recommended to avoid the following disturbing factors before the test:

Regarding those using medication, it is mandatory to inform the test taker about it and coordinate before whether or not to take it on the morning of the test.
